Mt. Everest - North Ridge Route solo - without oxygen Hans Kammerlander 16h45m 5/24/96 This is faster than the South side and a more difficult route. The total vertical is less, though. I think basecamp on the North Side is around 20,000 feet. Not sure of what support he got. I think he skied down as well, but couldn't have carried skis this fast. Could he?
Mt. Everest descent Jean-Marc Boivin 11m 1988 Flew a paraglider off the summit and arrived back in basecamp 11 minutes later. This 12,000 feet of descending, so he came down at a rate of over 1,000 feet per minute.
